The Sr. Program Manager oversees the planning, implementation, and tracking of multiple projects with defined end dates, as well as the coordination and administration of on-going, highly strategic programs.  Projects and/or programs may include those related to new products, product derivatives, technology development, cost reduction, quality enhancements, or non-product change initiatives.  Activities will include project identification, project initiation, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling and project closure.   Other responsibilities will include project and organizational staffing, people leadership, budgets, controlling expenses and profitability, organizational financial and strategic planning, facilitating meetings (project and organization). 

Responsibilities
  • Be qualified and capable of career advancement to the Controls PMO Leader position.
  • Deliver expected results associated with assigned projects and/or programs.
  • Work collaboratively with a broad spectrum of Rain Bird employees to establish project goals and allocate necessary resources (money, equipment, people)
  • Work in an electronics design and manufacturing environment
  • Participate heavily in all phases of product or program conceptualization, justification, requirements definition, development, implementation, and launch.
  • Set priorities, develop work schedules, and regularly assess progress.
  • Identify, evaluate, and take action to control risks associated with program activities.
  • Regularly identify areas for improvement; Anticipate and solve problems by assessing situations, identifying causes and possible solutions, and drive appropriate corrective actions.
  • Provide progress reports and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Be comfortable spending time in Mexico plants, as well as traveling to other Rain Bird facilities.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10 years of Program/Project management experience with electronic consumer products
  • PMP certification, or equivalent professional certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited university
  • Portfolio of successful results delivering projects using waterfall, agile and hybrid methodologies
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in the areas of communication, influence, team building, motivation, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement
  • Prior experience leading other Program/Project managers.
  • Excellent technical, conceptual, and financial skills
  • Extensive experience developing all disciplines of electronics-based products.
  • High energy with an enthusiastic attitude, desire for continued learning, and a willingness to take on difficult challenges in a variety of disciplines.

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experienced in six sigma/operational excellence methodologies.
  • Previous experience in the irrigation industry
  • Graduate degree in business or a technical discipline
  • Fluency in Spanish
