On April 8 – 10, Rain Bird hosted an intensive, hands-on Authorized Service Provider (ASP) Pump Training and Accreditation Program. The training was held at the award-winning Hoiana Shores Golf Club, in Quang Nam Province, Vietnam. This venue is an ideal representation of modern irrigation excellence, featuring a Rain Bird IC System and CirrusPRO Central Control with a Rain Bird pump station.

The training welcomed 10 ASP technicians from across Southeast Asia and the Pacific, with nine technicians successfully passing the final accreditation exam. Representing Rain Bird at the event were Mark Donohue, regional sales manager; Rob Weiks, area sales manager; Nick Watts, service plan support manager; Quinn Bender, customer service manager; Huy Nguyen, GSP support lead; and Amrit Singh, service manager.

With Southeast Asia’s golf industry expanding rapidly, Rain Bird recognized a need to bolster local pump support capacity and elevate service standards across the region.
The result was a strategic training program aimed at solidifying practical skills, system knowledge, and preventative maintenance protocol.

The training was designed to ensure regional Rain Bird ASP’s are now fully equipped to install, maintain, and troubleshoot Rain Bird’s advanced pump station technologies.

The training at Hoiana Shores provided a mix of classroom sessions, live demonstrations, and experiential learning in the field. Key focus areas included pump installation and maintenance, compact low-profile pump stations, I+ series filtration operation and maintenance and preventative maintenance protocols.

“This training is more than just a workshop, it is a foundational step in building a high-performance support network across the region,” says Weiks. “As the region’s golf industry continues to grow, it’s critical that our ASPs are equipped not only with product expertise, but with the confidence to implement and maintain Rain Bird systems to the highest standard.”
