Rain Bird Wins 1998 Rose
Parade Sweepstakes Trophy
Rain Bird Corporation was awarded the Sweepstakes Trophy
at the 1998 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, CA for
its float entry entitled Adventures in the Rain Forest. This
award is widely regarded as the premiere trophy awarded by
the tournament float judges.
Rain Bird’s spectacular entry depicted the treasures
of a lost civilization in the rain forest complete with waterfalls,
animated monkeys, butterflies with wings flapping and a light
mist of water falling throughout the forest. The float was
decorated entirely by Rain Bird employees and their families.
This was Rain Bird’s second entry in the Rose Parade.
