RAIN BIRD EAGLE™ 1150 PROVIDES FARTHEST THROW,
RELIABLE PERMORMANCE

ORLANDO, Fla. (February, 2005) – Rain Bird Golf Division introduces the EAGLE™ 1150 rotor, the newest addition to the industry-leading EAGLE Rotor Series and the industry’s farthest-throwing gear-drive rotor. With its closed-case top serviceable design, replaceable parts and easy adjustment-making capabilities, the EAGLE 1150 provides superintendents with superior longevity and convenience.

A part-circle model, the closed-case valve-in-hand EAGLE 1150 provides an easy solution for quick coupler system upgrades and is designed for larger, single-row or double-row irrigation systems with sizable spacing. Using the largest nozzle, the rotor can throw 114 feet at 110 psi, regulated.

The EAGLE 1150 offers flexibility with 360-degree reversing operation. Rotation time can be adjusted for syringe speeds or maximum radius settings, and the water-lubricated, heavy-duty and replaceable gear-drive ensures reliable rotation. Arc adjustment can be made easily from the top of the rotor head, requiring only a screwdriver for fast modifications.

Uniform water distribution is not sacrificed with the EAGLE 1150’s ability to throw water an unmatched distance. Dual spreader nozzle technology ensures that the EAGLE 1150 distributes water efficiently and uniformly over the entire length of the spray pattern – from the sprinkler head to the farthest-reaching droplets.

“We’ve designed the EAGLE 1150 to be the most reliable and efficient distance rotor on the market,” said Marc Negus, Rain Bird’s product manager of rotors. “Superintendents can rely on its performance from a water distribution stand point, as well as its ability to perform and withstand the elements over time.”

Additional features lending to the EAGLE 1150’s efficiency and cost-effectiveness include:

  • 4.25 inch pop-up height to clear the tallest grasses
  • Replaceable motor
  • Compatible with all existing EAGLE 900/950 case assemblies
  • Close-case design with self-flushing action prevents internal from getting stuck in the up position
  • Color-coded nozzles and top nozzle indicator makes identification easy
  • Heavy-duty reinforced polypropylene case type with snap-cover accessibility

Rain Bird’s EAGLE Rotor Series has more than 10 years of proven, in-field use. In addition to the 1150, the EAGLE Series line-up consists of the 1100, 900, 700 and 500 series rotors that feature radius ranges from 33 to 115 feet.

The partner to the EAGLE 1150 Part Circle rotor is the previously released EAGLE 1100 Full Circle rotor, which has all of the same features, reliability, durability, and length of throw as the EAGLE 1150. The EAGLE 1100 will actually throw up to 115 feet.
