Rain Bird's Wolfarth Named to Water Efficiency
Board
AZUSA, Calif., (January
11, 2007) - Ron Wolfarth,
director of Rain Bird Corporation's landscape irrigation
division, was recently named to the board of directors for
the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Alliance
for Water Efficiency. Wolfarth is one of 19 board members
selected from throughout North America to provide his water
conservation expertise and guidance to the Alliance.
Based in Chicago, the Alliance for Water Efficiency
is a new national, non-profit organization created as a clearinghouse
and advocate for water efficiency research, evaluation and
education. It was created in partnership with numerous
nationwide, regional and state organizations interested in
water conservation studies and outreach. In addition
to irrigation product producers, the Alliance for Water Efficiency's
board members represent water utilities, product and appliance
manufacturers, environmental organizations and academic institutions. The
board will formally convene in January to further develop
the new organization and its membership.
Wolfarth has been with Rain Bird for 21 years
and has held a variety of sales, marketing and management
positions. He has been a licensed landscape architect
in California since 1978 and has worked in landscape architecture
and irrigation and water management consulting for eight
years. In addition, Wolfarth currently serves on the
Irrigation Association's Smart Water Technologies Market
Transformation Committee, the Irrigation Association's Education
Foundation Board of Trustees and the steering committee advising
the EPA on its WaterSense product labeling program.
