virtual hall delves deep into the Rain Bird archives to present
stories, photos and fun facts about the invention and historical
impact of some of Rain Bird’s revolutionary products
including the first underground pop-up sprinklers, the first
computerized irrigation central control system and the largest
impact sprinkler Rain Bird ever produced.
“The Intelligent Use of Water™ has been a core
philosophy driving product innovation at Rain Bird for over
seventy years,” said Alex Nathanson, Rain Bird Corporate
Marketing Brand Manager. “With the launch of the Rain
Bird Virtual Museum, people around the world have the opportunity
to explore through our rich heritage and get a close-up look
at the innovations that have helped save countless millions
of gallons of water worldwide.”
In the Beginnings Exhibit, visitors can hear the story behind
the invention of the original impact sprinkler and learn
how the company began back in 1933. The Decades of Innovation
Exhibit presents a virtual hallway filled with stories, photos,
interesting facts and a sampling of Rain Bird’s product
and technology innovations that have helped revolutionize
the way the world irrigates today.
The Macromedia Flash 8 player (available free from Adobe’s
website) is required to view the museum. Due to the rich
nature of the content, a high bandwidth connection (Cable/DSL/LAN)
is recommended for optimum performance.
