Rain Bird Corporation Drives
Home the Need for Landscape Water Conservation with the Release
of Its 2nd Industry White Paper, A Homeowner's Guide To Water-Efficient
Landscapes
Rain Bird Continues Its Examination of the Global Water
Crisis as Its Second White Paper Focuses on the Role
of Efficient
Lawn and Garden Irrigation at Home
GLENDORA, Calif. (June
2, 2006) – Rain Bird Corporation has announced
the release of its 2nd industry white paper, which focuses
on providing insight, suggestions and solutions for incorporating
water-efficient landscapes at the residential level. Titled
A Homeowner's Guide To Water-Efficient Landscapes, the
paper serves to educate the general public on the issues
and best practices as they relate to water conservation
in the lawn and garden. Available in downloadable form
on www.rainbird.com, A
Homeowner's Guide To Water-Efficient Landscapes continues the discussion of the role of efficient
residential irrigation in the face of growing global water
scarcity, as was examined in Rain Bird's first white paper,
Irrigation for a Growing World.
"
Most discussion of water conservation has focused primarily
on practicing water conservation techniques inside the
home. As a result, most homeowners are well-schooled when
it comes to conserving water indoors, but not as savvy
when it comes to curbing water waste outside the home," said
Rain Bird's Director of Corporate Marketing, Dave Johnson. "This
paper is an excellent primer for communicating the importance
of water conservation using landscape irrigation technology
and practices. It will assist homeowners in choosing the
best options for incorporating water efficient landscapes."
A Homeowner's Guide To Water-Efficient Landscapes continues
the discussion of the important issues raised in Rain
Bird's first white paper by focusing on the role that
homeowners
play in conserving this most precious resource through
efficient irrigation. The paper begins with a brief
overview of the world's water crisis as addressed in
more detail
in Rain Bird's first white paper, Irrigation for a
Growing World, followed by a closer look at the history,
benefits
and essentials of water conserving landscapes in Chapter
One. Chapter Two and Three provide readers with a detailed
look at the basics of efficient irrigation and profiles
some of the key technological water-saving advances
in residential irrigation. The paper concludes by stressing
the importance of maintenance and management as it
relates
to keeping water conserving landscapes efficient. Written
in a manner that is easily understood by the layperson,
the paper's content is supported with numerous case
studies, charts, graphs and additional sources of information.
