New Rain Bird® IQ™ Central Control System Offers
Easy, Effective Irrigation Control for Smaller
Sites
AZUSA, Calif., (March
26, 2007) - Centralized
irrigation control has never been so simple and cost-effective
for smaller commercial or residential sites. Rain Bird
Corporation is pleased to introduce its new IQ™ Central
Control System, allowing landscape contractors, property
managers and water managers to monitor and control irrigation
at multiple remote sites from a single computer.
Utilizing Rain Bird's ESP-LX Modular Controller
and a PC-based computer, the IQ Central Control System provides
users with easy to learn software, which provides remote
programming, adjustments, monitoring and manual operation
of satellite controllers through a variety of communication
options. It also offers basic water management features,
including Evaportranspiration (ET) Adjust, Seasonal Adjust
and Cycle+SoakTM to save users water and time. For
those already using a standalone ESP-LX Modular controller,
Rain Bird has made an upgrade kit available to convert standalone
controllers to satellite versions compatible with the IQ
Central Control System.
The IQ Central Control System comes with multiple
communication options that allow for wired or wireless connections
between the central computer and the systems satellite controllers. It
was also designed with users' irrigation expansion in mind. It
contains modular components to allow the system to grow as
the properties' irrigation needs increase, thereby eliminating
the installation of multiple enclosures and extra external
wiring connections.
"Rain Bird's new IQ Central Control System
is an ideal solution for irrigation managers who are looking
for an easy-to-use and efficient system for their smaller
sites," said Doug Callison, Rain Bird's central control product
manager. "Because the system saves water, time and
money, users receive world-class irrigation control without
the higher price associated with central control systems
designed for larger sites."
