RAIN BIRD OFFERS NEW, CLOSER RADIUS NOZZLE SET
FOR COMMERCIAL ROTOR FAMILY

GLENDORA, Calif. (November 29, 2006) - Rain Bird Corporation is pleased to introduce a new short-radius nozzle set for its 5500 Series Rotor family.  Designed to shorten the rotor radius to as short as 17 feet, this innovative nozzle set provides additional flexibility for irrigating commercial turf applications with the performance and vandal resistance customers rely on in the 5500/7005/8005 Series Rotors.

Allowing systems to irrigate from 17 feet to 55 feet, Rain Bird's 5500 Series Rotor nozzle set also includes the performance benefits of Rain Curtain™ nozzle technology.  This feature provides even distribution, close-in watering and larger water droplets for enhanced wind resistance.  Rain Bird's Rain Curtain nozzles help ensure more precise, uniform turf coverage over the entire range.  As a result, shorter watering time is required, helping to save water and money.

The nozzle's broader radius range joins other key benefits of the industry-leading 5500/7005/8005 Series Rotor family that includes unmatched vandal resistance and ease of use in a product designed to excel in short to long range applications--17 feet to 81 feet.  Built to withstand the harsh conditions often associated with commercial applications such as on sports fields and in parks, the Rain Bird 5500/7005/8005 Series Rotor family has been designed and tested to consistently deliver a level of satisfaction that is unmatched.  The rotor includes Memory Arc®, which returns the rotor automatically to its original arc setting after it has been tampered with, and a non-strippable drive mechanism that prevents damage if vandals tamper with the rotor head.  The 5500/7005/8005 Series Rotors also contain a brass shaft that reinforces the nozzle turret-to-riser connection and helps the rotor withstand side impacts.  In addition, the 5500/7005/8005 Series Rotors offer continuous full- and part-circle operation in the same head as well as independent left/right arc adjustment.

"The new short-radius nozzle set for the 5500 Series Rotor gives professionals the shorter radius range flexibility for commercial settings with the durability, reliability and performance associated with the 5500/7005/8005 Series Rotor family," said Heather Kraus, Rain Bird product manager.
